Creating a Business Meta Manager account is a great way to manage your Facebook and Instagram pages and ads in one place. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to create your account, add existing pages and ads, and manage your account settings.
Step 1: Sign Up
Go to the Facebook Business Manager website and sign up. You can use your existing Facebook account or create a new one.
To create a Business Manager:
Click Create account.
Enter a name for your business, your name and work email address and click Next.
Enter your business details and click Submit.
Once you have your business manager account created, you can either add your existing Facebook page, ads account and Instagram account to it, or create new ones.
Let's look at adding existing assets to the Meta Business Manager first:
Step 2: Add Existing Facebook Page, Instagram Account, and Ads Account
If you already have a Facebook page, Instagram account, or ads account that you want to manage with Business Manager, click on "Business Settings" on the top right corner of the screen. Then, select "Accounts" and click "Add". Enter the necessary information, and your existing accounts will be added.
You have two options: A) add an asset. B) Request access to an asset.
A) add an asset: this is used when you own the page or ad account and want to move it into the business manager. Once you’ve added an ad account in Business Manager, you can’t remove it.
B) Request access to an asset: this is used when a third party that doesn't own the asset wants to be able to work on it without claiming ownership. If you work for an agency, you should request access to your client’s ad account instead of adding it.
Adding a Facebook page
Once you click on "Add a Page" it will ask you to enter the name of your page, or paste in the url of your page.
NOTE: you have to be the admin of the page in order to add it.
Adding an ads account
When you click 'add' it will ask you for the Ad Account ID for your ads account that you're adding.
To find the ID, go to your ads account and copy the string of numbers after your ads account name.
Once you've pasted that into the box, the ads account will be permanently added to the business manager. NOTE: You must be an admin on the ads account you're adding.
Adding an Instagram account
To add an Instagram account, you have to first log into your Instagram account so make sure you have your login details ready.
Once you've logged in through the business manager, your instagram account will be added to the Meta Business Manager account.
And now let's look at creating new assets:
Step 3: Create a New Facebook Page
If you don't have a Facebook page yet, you can create one by clicking on "Business Settings" on the top right corner of the screen. Then, select "Accounts" and click "Pages". Click "Create" and follow the prompts to set up a new Facebook page.
Step 4: Create a New Instagram Account
If you don't have an Instagram account yet, you can create one by clicking on "Business Settings" on the top right corner of the screen. Then, select "Accounts" and click "Instagram Accounts". Click "Add" and follow the prompts to set up a new Instagram account.
Step 5: Create a New Ads Account
If you don't have an ads account yet, you can create one by clicking on "Business Settings" on the top right corner of the screen. Then, select "Accounts" and click "Ad Accounts". Click "Add" and follow the prompts to set up a new ads account.
Step 6: Add a New User
To add a new user to your Business Manager account, click on "Business Settings" on the top right corner of the screen. Then, select "People" and click "Add". Enter the person's email address and select the role you want them to have in your account.
Step 7: Add a Payment Method
To add a payment method to your Business Manager account, click on "Billing" on the top right corner of the screen. Then, click "Payment Methods" and select "Add Payment Method". Enter the necessary information and save your payment method.
Make sure that the correct country and currency is selected because once you submit it, you can't change it.
Step 8: Add Partner Access
You can give third parties (like agencies) access to your business manager through Partner access. You'll need to request their Business ID before you get started.
To add partner access to your Business Manager account, click on "Business Settings" on the top right corner of the screen. Then, select "Partners" and click "Add". Enter the partner's Business ID and select the level of access you want them to have in your account.
And that's it! You now have a Business Manager account and can manage your Facebook and Instagram pages and ads all in one place. Plus, you can manage users, payment methods, and partner access to streamline your business operations.
